For divers that have already achieved the PADI open water diver certification and want to advance their skills and knowledge, the PADI advanced open water diver course is the next step. The standard program includes 5 dive modules and 5 knowledge reviews, but no exams, over a 2 day period, which can be scheduled between surf days if preferred.

Deep Dive and Underwater Navigation are the compulsory core modules, and clients then choose three more adventure dives from the following: drift diving, underwater digital photography, underwater naturalist, peak performance buoyancy and many others by application. Participants should be at least 12 years old and have a junior PADI Open Water Diver or PADI Open Water Diver certification. Please note: divers between 12-14 years old obtain a Junior Advanced Open Water Diver certification upon course completion.

The Theory
The advanced open water theory is comprised of 5 chapters related to the Adventure Dive of your choosing. For each chapter, you will need to complete a knowledge review and review it with your Instructor.

The Open Water Dive
To complete your training you must complete 5 open water dives (the fun part)! On each Adventure Open Water Dive you are going to perform a number of underwater skills as discussed with your Instructor before the dive.

The certification
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification is recognized worldwide and valid for life, allowing you to dive independently to a maximum depth of 30 meters. This course will expand your skillset and knowledge while allowing you to explore more of the underwater world.

The adventure dive is an introduction to a specialty within diving. You will need to complete five dives, two of which are required and three others of your choosing.

Day 1
We start at 7:00 in the morning and will make 3 dives at one of our dive spots around Rote island. 1 of the dives for this day is going to be an underwater navigation dive. You may choose the two other types of dives.

We will be back at the resort around 13:00 and complete the knowledge reviews.

Day 2
Today we are going to make 2 dives on one of our dive sites around Rote. Again we will be leaving with the boat at 7:00 in the morning and return around 12:00.

The first dive will be a deep dive were we will go to a maximum depth of 30m and you will perform a couple of skills there. The next dive is will be one of your choosing.

After we come back to the resort, your PADI dive instructor will certify you. You will get a temporary card and your official certification will be send to your home address.
